Pleases in Limassol
The name Pleaces in Silikou means “avers”. It is a picturesque village in the Limassol district of Cyprus, situated 5 km from Pera Pedi. It was the original capital of Cyprus and many historical ruins can be found here. You will find the remains of ancient townships like Neos Architrave, Paphos and Kornatiya, plus a Roman theatre. There are a number of excellent restaurants and hotels in this area, making it a popular tourist destination.
It is home to the only pier in the whole of Cyprus. Silikou offers an abundance of activities for all ages. You can take part in activities such as sailing, windsurfing, swimming, boating, fishing and diving. There are also several shopping malls. However, you should take care to avoid being tricked into believing that the prices in these shops are cheaper in Silikou because they charge the same in other districts.
If you decide to go out for a long trip, you will need to book your holiday accommodation prior to departing. The best place to start looking is online. Just by searching “holiday accommodation in Limassol” on Google or Yahoo! you will get a number of companies offering great deals. This can save you both time and money as you won’t have to mingle with any locals when you reach Silikou.
Once you have made your choice, you should read a good quality travel guide to get a full detailed understanding of the place. You can either visit the place directly or buy a Cyprus map (which can be bought at a few places in Limassol). If you do plan to travel off-road, you must wear suitable clothing such as biking shorts and a t-shirt. Water bottles and glasses are required, so bring along enough for everyone on your group.
Food is one of the most important parts of any trip. There are plenty of restaurants serving a variety of traditional dishes. Try and sample the local delicacies, such as rice and peas or lamb. Some of the popular dishes served in a traditional Limassol restaurant include Bekaloum, a dish consisting of black beans seasoned with garlic; or Akaorada, a mix of meat and vegetables served with spicy sauce. There are also many good seafood restaurants in Limassol that serve some of the best fresh fish in the region.
Limassol holidays are usually quite cheap. The prices vary according to the time of year, the accommodation and the amenities you require. It is important that you plan ahead and get all the details before leaving for your trip. Most modern hotels will offer online booking facilities. Make use of them and get ready for an experience of a lifetime.
